The enactment of the Pension Reform Act in 2004 and the introduction of the Contributory Pension Scheme marked a transformative shift in Nigeria’s Pension landscape. Under the diligent oversight of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), the industry has not only matured but has also significantly contributed to reshaping Nigeria’s financial services sector and providing a reliable pool of long-term capital for national development. PenCom recognizes that effective regulatory collaboration with licensed operators and key stakeholders is essential to achieving the long-term objectives of Pension reform.
